Lovely village Cafè serving fresh food. Visited for breakfast and after request, was able to park the bike outside. Very kind. Bacon and egg barm with sourdough toast & marmalade, Sam had eggs benediction, both with coffee. Really nice, only little Diddy fault (if you class it a fault), the eggs were over poached, other than that, quality. Certainly visit again. Sorry, no photos of food, I was hungry 😋

I must lead this review by saying the staff were lovely so I’m happy from that perspective. However, I felt that the inside of the cafe was relatively cold - I kept my coat on during my meal. Perhaps this is just a personal issue, as others didnt seem to mind as much, but I am usually fine eating in other cafes without a coat on. The large breakfast left something to be desired (see image). The portion size felt relatively small versus other brunch venues (e.g. only 1 small-medium sized sausage, which is hidden behind the beans pot in this photo). Eggs were undercooked on top (jelly-like) and overcooked at the bottom (closer to hard boiled). This may be due to how the eggs are cooked. Bacon tasted slightly overcooked (a bit hard to chew). The hash brown and beans were ok so no issues from that side. As you can see there is a good portion of beans! Relative felt that the avocado and toast was nice but not exceptional. Eg pomegranate or feta cheese would be a good optional addition to this. They would rate this particular dish at 4*. It was nice of them to include a lotus biscuit with the tea cups. Relatives felt that the toilet had poor hygiene (which I didnt notice myself). Cake stand is also attached. Some relatively basic options to choose from, nothing that immediately jumps out at you, however I didn’t try these so they may still be good quality. Overall, I’d say the cafe itself has no big problems, but it feels a bit “average”. The pleasant service is appreciated.

Dropped in for a working lunch with my dog. Had soup and bowl of chips. Soup bowl was brimming with tasty hot tomato and roasted peppers. Loved the croutons on the side. Chips were amazing. Service friendly and efficient and not in your face. But what I loved is that there are so many small 2 seat tables with lots of double sockets for my laptop and I wasn’t made to feel like a social outcast for wanting to work with my dog under the table. Since Covid, home working is the norm but it increases your social isolation. Go to Tilly’s and you will be welcomed with open arms. 100% recommend but park responsibly.
