The Stable is my cafe of choice when I visit Newmarket. It is very reasonably priced and the portions are a good size. The jacket potatoes are cooked to perfection and come with loads of salad and the blend used for the latte is of a high standard.. The staff are always cheerful and friendly and I like the atmosphere as well as the commitment to providing a service to the community at a time when eating out is cost prohibitive to many. I would highly recommend.

I was in the area with my nephew and decided to pop in for a bite to eat, and I am glad I did. The staff were friendly and welcoming, asking if I knew what I wanted or if I would like a recommendation. Upon telling them I had a milk allergy they let me know that oat milk was available as a substitution, and that they would be extra diligent to make sure no cross contamination would occur. The oat milk latte was very tasty. Whilst waiting for our food to be prepared we spent some time in the play area, which had a selection of books and toys, including a digger, which my nephew is now obsessed with. I had to pass by Moons to get one of his own on our way home. I got a tuna mayo sandwich with fresh lettuce and cucumber, and a portion of goujons. My nephew had fish fingers and chips, with a Fruit Shoot and crisps. We both finished our plates, which is no small feat for a 2 year old. The area was relaxed and calm, the other customers in the cafe were friendly, and I even met a cute little dog who my nephew adored, meaning it is dog friendly. For under £15 I fed myself and a toddler, got to spend an hour in a warm and hospitable establishment, and met some charming people. I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

Had a really lovely iced coffee here today! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, giving the whole place a genuine, warm community feel. It’s also fantastic that they have a dedicated children’s play area, making it a perfect spot for families. Highly recommend checking it out!

Great quality meals or have a coffee and cake. We loved the sausage rolls. All food made on the premises including the cakes Great community cafe with lovely staff. Well supervised and clean. Separate play area for children in another bright room. All in all a good place to meet friends and have a substantial meal at a good price. All run by volunteers from churches together. What a welcoming wonderful place

I would definitely recommend it and will definitely be back again. ️ If you’re looking for a place to have lunch in the centre of Newmarket that is very reasonably priced, I would definitely recommend trying The Stable. It’s somewhere I enjoy going when I’m in town and need a nice, relaxed place for lunch. The café is welcoming, and the staff are always very helpful and friendly.

Over the years, I've enjoyed their homely food – always fresh, hearty, and affordable – as well as their brilliant party hire space, perfect for celebrations of all kinds. What sets Stable Café apart is how genuinely child-friendly it is. The thoughtful setup makes it easy for parents to relax while little ones enjoy themselves. It truly feels like a space designed for everyone to feel comfortable and cared for.
