This was our First visit to this cafe after a lovely 2.5 hour walk we decided to pop in for coffee and cake before heading home. On arrival the cafe was so welcome and tranquil and the little fire was on, we sat next to it, took off our Coates and ordered a pot of tea and a coffee and a scone with jam and clotted cream each. The server (a young girl black hair) was not very welcoming and seemed confused when I asked if she would mind slicing the scones in half as I would not be able to do it with the thin wooden knife she had pointed over to when I asked for one. The scones were not heated up and were actually stale but we were so hungry after the walk that we ate them after there was not a staff member on site for over 5 minutes. I thought that the scones were very over priced for the quality and I even had to pay extra for the cream and jam. Not really a good experience if I’m honest and I think next time we would take a flask of hot drink and our own cakes and just sit in the car before heading back. Not impressed at all and I visit a lot of places.

If disappointment could be embodied, it would be through this food. I had the chicken teriyaki burger and it was indeed 'yaki' like the name suggests. I'm shocked I was able to eat this sad, tasteless meal, but as I was starving, I had to. The staff member upsold some chips and I am so glad he did as this was the only decent thing. £40 for 4 burgers, well if you can even call these things burgers. More like effortless sandwiches, not even that, I have no appropriate name for these products. My boyfriend's hot honey chicken burger was just chicken and a sad leaf of lettuce too. McDonald's takes more pride in their food, and it's cheaper. The prices are extortionate. It's better to take a picnic than be robbed. What a joke. At least the walk was nice.

Cozy cafe after a walk in the forest, perfect for a family with kids. Staff were so friendly, especially the asian lady, she helped me out with high chair for my kids and gave them lovely stickers. Food and drinks were decent but some items are a little pricey but still reasonable for the setup. Overall, definitely worth visiting and went there last week and we’ll be back soon.

Reading some of the reviews, I think some people expect Gordon Ramsay to be cooking with a full compliment of Michelin star support behind him.. Honestly, just what you want after a hike / walk.. especially on a bit of a nippy day.. staff were really helpful and friendly, the food was great. I'd expect a burger to be served with chips as standard though.. Obviously it's predominantly not all prepped on site, but it's good. Nothing wrong at all. Coffee's good, food's good.. prices are reasonable.. What more do you want!? ..... and if you say Gordon Ramsay, I'll......... 😂

We went for a much needed walk in the fresh air and sunshine today, and decided to stay for lunch. We both had the new Beef Brisket Stack and a side of fries and would definitely recommend! Very Yummy! The kids had sandwiches and the bread was lovely and soft with a nice chewy crust. Plus some really nice cakes and a fab hot chocolate. It was nice to have the choice of sitting inside or outside (we made the most of the sunshine and sat outside) - the only problem was a lack of bins meant we ended up having to play buckaroo as there seemed to be only one bin for the whole cafe and picnic area. Price wise it felt pretty comparable to similar places, and we both felt it was reasonable considering the quality. Staff were all friendly and working together to keep the queue moving quickly and there wasn't a very long wait for food to come out. Overall, 10/10 we will definitely be back

Nice little find and very busy but this was expected on a sunny Spring day. The staff were really friendly and the food was delicious, we had the beef stack and fish finger sandwich, which was good value for money. The coffee was also really nice and we especially liked the art on the coffee! Really enjoyable visit.

Food is good and service is great. Atmosphere is very loud, not just the kids but also the adults. The best behaved are the dogs.
