Parking free and lots of geese and ducks around when we visited that must be used to being fed as they walk towards you when they see you. Cafe is nice with outside seating options. Good selection of items. Food was really nice but did feel it was rather expensive for the surroundings, basic facilities and decor. We sat inside and wasn’t overly warm - it’s a large area in what I’d say is a wooden construction with glass windows.

The cafe and boating at situated at Kirkholme Point, at the eastern end of Hornsea Mere. Access is via a narrow lane from the main road (B1242). Parking is free at this relaxing tourist spot. The cafe is a great location to buy a range of great value food, drinks and ice cream. The team there are very friendly and welcoming. Kirkholme Point is great place to feed the ducks, geese and swans or hire a rowing boat to explore the county’s largest lake. The Point is also very popular with local birdwatchers and recorded a wide range of species including Red-footed Falcon, Great Reed Warbler, Bonaparte’s Gull, Pacific Swift and the UK’s first White-rumped Swift.

Excellent little cafe with friendly staff. Nice range of cakes to choose from and outdoor seating with views of the boating portion of the mere while you enjoy a cuppa. Round the back there's the parking which backs onto the main mere with some very friendly ducks and geese that will eat out of your hands. You need to bring your own duckfood though.
